I know many people reading this blog have trained on or are interested in the Hansons Marathon Method, so I just wanted to make sure you all know there is now a Hansons Half Marathon Method book!
Velopress was kind enough to send me a copy of this book to review, so stay tuned for that soon! I’ll also be giving away a copy of the book to one of you! I plan to post my review & giveaway sometime during the month of April, so check back.
If you haven’t picked up one of the Hansons method books (the marathon method or half marathon method) I highly recommend doing so. You can find the plan on their website but I think reading the book cover to cover before taking on this plan is a good idea just to ensure that the philosophy and approach align with your goals. There is so much great content in the books, and I found myself referencing the marathon method book weekly while I was training on the plan.
Those of you who followed my Chicago marathon training may be wondering whether I plan to train for a half marathon on the Hansons plan as well. I am considering giving it a try for a fall half marathon. I’m doing a half marathon in June but am focused on getting a strength training routine in place so I just can’t do six days a week of running right now as well. That being said, I am a huge believer in the philosophy behind this plan and fully intend to give the half marathon plan a try at some point.
